Pruning is the process of removing certain limbs, branches, or stems from a tree. It is much more than the simple act of sawing off some limbs. A Certified Arborist will always follow American National Standards Institute (ANSI) A300 Pruning Standards and will make informed decisions about how much and where to trim or remove, as well as use the proper technique to do so to help facilitate proper healing and health. Proper pruning can help improve a tree’s structure and health.

There are numerous reasons why a tree may be removed and it is often done because the tree is dead and/or is a threat to people or property. Tree removal, particularly large tree removal, requires specific knowledge and equipment and is a highly technical task. A Certified Arborist will be able to remove a tree in a safe and efficient manner.

A tree emergency is a tree that has become immediately hazardous, usually as a result of a storm or weather. Downed trees can present even more of a risk and should be left to a tree care company with extensive experience in responding to storm damage. A Certified Arborist will also be able to asses whether a tree can be saved or if removal is required.

    Tree Health

Certified Arborists are well-versed in tree biology and as a result, are able to identify and diagnose ailments that affect trees, including, but not limited to, fungal diseases, insects, and environmental conditions. A Certified Arborist will be able to provide recommendations as to treatment options to help maintain tree health.

We are available to perform Certified Arborist and tree health services in Tulsa, OK and the surrounding cities. Call us at 918-500-9955 for an assessment.

    What is a Certified Arborist?

ISA Certified Arborists are tree care workers that follow a strict code of ethics that ensures the reliability and credibility of their work. A Certified Tulsa Arborist will always consider the health and needs of each individual tree.

The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) serves the tree care industry and is a credentialing organization that promotes the professional practice of arboriculture.  It focuses on research, technology, and education to advance best tree care practices.  It is the only organization that can certify an arborist.  TREES BY JAKE maintains multiple ISA Certified Arborists on staff trained and knowledgeable in all aspects of arboriculture, including tree biology, diagnosis, maintenance practice, and safety (click here to verify our credentials).

To become an ISA Certified Arborist an individual must:

    • Have 3 years of full-time experience working in the field while implementing proper tree care techniques;

    • Receive a recommendation by an ISA Certified Arborist; and

    • Sit for an extensive certification exam.

Once certified, they are required to engage in continuing education to maintain the credential.

    Affordable Cost

Trees by Jake is the best in town. We have used them for several years and they have done an outstanding job at an affordable price. It also is very attractive to me that Jake is a Certified Arborist, and has the long term health of the tree in mind, and he's not just interested in cutting it all down just to make a profit. The crew that comes out is always courteous and does a good job cleaning up afterwards.

    The price was very reasonable

Trees by Jake trimmed a very large tree over my roof. They were professional and the price was very reasonable. Jake is a certified arborist, which was a plus, and was really knowledgeable about everything. I appreciated being kept up to date on the status of the job and when they left, it didn't even look like there had been guys working! I definitely recommend Jake to anyone needing tree work done.

    Promptly and Quick

BEST tree service in town. I contacted 2 other big name tree services for a bid - one of them couldn't be bothered to even answer the phone, much less return my phone call. The other one said they could probably come out in a week. My entire experience with the team at Trees by Jake was a pleasure. Jake really knows what he is doing as a certified arborist and all of his workers are safe and knowledgeable. He had lots of trucks and tools to get the job done in a timely manner and cleanup was immaculate. I will continue to use them for maintenance and recommend them to anyone who needs tree work. Thank you Jake and Allison and the rest of the team!

    Trusted Certified Arborist

If you are in need of tree service, these are the guys to call. I called to get a quote and met with Jake the same day. He asked me what I wanted done and he gave me his recommendations. He is a certified arborist so I trusted what he wanted to do. My trees have never looked better. He said they had to drive up in my yard with their truck but said not to worry, you won't be able to tell that we were even here....he didn't lie! The only way you can tell is if you look at the trees. My property looks better than it did before they started. Don't waste your time with anyone else, they have my trust! Thanks, guys!
